The Biology of Belief

Posted by Fredsvenn on July 31, 2014

The next great advance in biology will change more than science textbooks—it will revolutionize the way you live your life.

In the past, we’ve been taught that living beings are like machines run by biochemicals and DNA, explains Dr. Bruce H. Lipton. What we now know is that our entire biology is shaped by the intelligence of each of our 50 trillion cells. And the single most important way to influence them is through the energy of our beliefs.

Today we are in a time where we are straddled between two worlds. There’s the old paradigm that says the world is flat, man is made solely of material matter and that genes (and therefore pharmaceuticals) govern our health.

It is a system that many institutions and financial investments are built on. And even as it falls apart before our very pockets, our politicians, scientists and health agencies are willing to keep the old lie in place. Funding shapes the research which results in the pseudonym we now call ‘science.’

Despite the efforts to resist change, the truth and new paradigm are emerging. Our reluctance to embrace recent findings is understandable. The new truth puts the responsibility for our own health in our own hands. This new paradigm forces us to look at ourselves; at our institutions, at life itself in a very different light.

No longer can we completely trust our medical profession that is shaped by big drug companies profit margins. No longer can we unconsciously leave our finances in the hands of those we only vote for once or twice every four years. No longer can we ignore the deadly chemical and emotional toxins we feed ourselves and our children daily. Buckminster Fuller said that if we could get just 5% of the world’s population to be truly responsible, we could save the world.

One of those responsible pioneers, is author and speaker Dr. Bruce Lipton. Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville before joining the Department of Anatomy at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine in the 70’s. His experiments, and that of other leading edge scientists, have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information.  It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology; that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts.

Traditional cell biology says molecules control biology. Dr. Lipton on the other hand focuses on the mechanisms through which energy in the form of our beliefs can affect our biology, including our genetic code! Facts reveal for example, that genes do not control cancer or heart disease. Cells, it turns out, are intelligent. They read our environmental and mental and emotional stimuli and adjust their behavior. They translate information into a biochemical ‘awareness’ that regulates their activity. They, eat, excrete and communicate intelligently to exchange information. They are controlled by signals coming from our own thinking and from the food we ingest.  Experiments conducted by Dr. Lipton reveal that the outer layer of a cell is the organic equivalent of a computer chip, and the cell’s equivalent of a brain. Feed a brain too much mercury for example, and the result could be Alzhiemers.

His deepened understanding of cell biology highlighted the mechanisms by which the quality of energy itself controls bodily function. Dr. Lipton’s profoundly hopeful synthesis of the latest and best research in cell biology and quantum physics is being hailed as a major breakthrough showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.

His book ‘The Biology of Belief’ is an awakening in the field of New Biology. Foundational pillars of science are based on a dogmatic beliefs. These beliefs are not based in fact and are increasingly being proven to be false. The more the public grasps the new findings, the better choices and world we can live in. Science will follow the money. More than half of the population are seeking alternatives and renewing the belief in nature. Change the thought environment and the cells (‘we”) will change our behavior.

Human beings are a like a skin covered petri dish made of trillions of little minds (cells) trying to survive. The brain controls our chemistry and our mind controls the brain. What that means and what quantum physics have proven is that decision and intention play a part is shaping the physical world. We now know that adopting new beliefs is not only spiritually and emotionally comforting, but vitally important to physical health.  There can be a chasm of difference between what someone may feel is actually healthy for themselves and what scientists deem a person needs. In our search for sustainability perhaps the urge for sovereignity can  replace greed and the power of consciousness instead can begin to create a belief in ourselves.
